Atlanta, GA – The Douglasville Parole Office will be holding an Offender Job Fair in Douglasville on September 3rd and 4th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The job fair will be held at the Vision 21 facilities located at 6976 Bankhead Highway in Douglasville. On the first day of the offender job fair, offenders currently on parole or probation will receive job search training from the Department of Labor.  Area employers have been invited to attend the second day of the fair to interview offenders who are seeking employment. 

Douglasville Chief Parole Officer Craig Cazier says employment is a key factor in the success of offenders exiting the prison system.

“Sustainable employment is a must in order for offenders on community supervision to be successful and become contributing members of society. Without it, an offender’s chances of returning to prison rise dramatically,” stated Cazier.

This event is a joint effort between the State Board of Pardons and Paroles’ Douglasville Parole Office and the Department of Corrections’ Douglasville Probation Office. The Department of Labor and Goodwill are also participating. The parolees and probationers attending will also receive GED information at the job fair through West Georgia Technical College.

The Parole Board has held recent offender job fairs in Albany, Americus, Augusta and Dublin at which more than 300 offenders met with employers and discussed employment opportunities.
