GPACS Summer 2022 Conference in Savannah, GA
The State Board of Pardons and Paroles supported and participated in the Georgia Professional Association of Community Supervision (GPACS) Summer Conference in Savannah, Georgia. GPACS provides training for criminal justice professionals in Georgia. The Board presented a workshop titled, "The Georgia Parole Board and the Community Supervision Officer; Critical Partners for Public Safety." Parole Board Chairman Terry Barnard and Executive Director of Parole Chris Barnett were speakers.
Chairman Barnard says the relationship between the supervision officer and the Parole Board is critical to public safety. "The GPACS Conference provides an opportunity for our staff and the state's supervision officers to further the professional relationship that exists to ensure offenders who are serving parole are not a risk to public safety," said Chairman Barnard.
