Eris McKennon began her career in the private sector with Tucker Federal Bank, where she held several leadership roles including Area Vice President of Finance and Human Resources. In 2008, she transitioned into state service with the Georgia Department of Labor as a Human Resources subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to Georgia Industries for the Blind, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation, Disability Adjudication Services, and the Department of Labor, serving over 3,600 managers, executive leadership, elected officials, and line staff.

In 2011, McKennon joined the leadership team of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, as a subject matter expert in the Office of Human Resources. In July 2014, she joined the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles as the Deputy Director of Human Resources. That same year, McKennon was appointed by the Board to serve as Director of Human Resources.

Eris McKennon earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Davis and Elkins University, along with a dual major in Criminal Justice and Psychology from St. Leo University. She holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and a Master of Business Administration from Troy State University. Additionally, she is certified in Executive Coaching and Leadership, and holds a Senior Human Resources Manager certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Director McKennon is a member of several professional organizations including the Society for Human Resource Management, the Georgia Association of Women in Public Safety, and the Georgia Council for Human Resources.
