Christopher Kimner
Director of Investigations

Chris Kimner began his state career in 2007 with the Parole Board, serving as a Parole Officer in Fulton County. He became a member of the Metro Regional Arrest Team, and Arrest Team Coordinator, Field Training Officer, and Sex Offender/Electronic Monitoring Specialist. In 2010, he was named Parole Officer of the Year. Promotions followed to include Assistant Chief Parole Officer, Field Operations Officer, and Compliance Auditor.
In 2015, Kimner was appointed Director of Internal Affairs and Training, where he oversaw executive protection, policies, and procedures, conducted internal investigations/audits, and served as the agency’s primary instructor. Additionally, he conducts pre-employment polygraph examinations for the Parole Board.
Chris Kimner is an active member of the American Polygraph Association, Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association, and the Georgia Internal Affairs Investigators Association.
Chris Kimner graduated from the University of North Georgia in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He went on to complete a Master of Public Administration with concentrations in Policy Analysis, Planning, and Economic Development from Georgia State University in 2004. He is also a graduate of the Carl Vinson Institute in Leadership Development.
